GB%
Ground-ball rate — share of batted balls hit on the ground.
What GB% means
League average is roughly 43%. Ground balls almost never leave the yard, which is why sinkerballers survive homer-friendly parks — and why ground-ball hitters need speed to be productive.
What counts as a good GB%
Higher is better — roughly .360 is poor, .430 average, .480 good, and .530 or better elite.
