What xERA means
Translates xwOBA-against into an ERA-scaled number. Different from FIP/xFIP — looks at EV/LA on every batted ball rather than walks/Ks/HRs.
What counts as a good xERA
Lower is better — roughly 4.5 is poor, 4 average, 3.5 good, and 3 or better elite.
